Three years of Tareno Hawk-Eye: return above the capital market line
Attractive returns with controlled risk
Three years after its launch, the Tareno Hawk-Eye certificate shows how attractive returns and controlled risk can be successfully combined. Since April 2023, the strategy has achieved a performance of around +96%. Compared to the capital-weighted world equity index, this resulted in an outperformance of +17%, and even +40% compared to the equally weighted world equity index. At the same time, the risk profile remained at a controlled level.
More return per unit of risk
For investors, it is not only the absolute return that counts. The decisive factor is also how efficiently the risk taken is converted into returns.
Modern portfolio theory describes this relationship with the capital market line. It shows what return can be expected for a certain level of risk. Strategies above this line achieve an above-average return in relation to the risk taken.
While many global equity funds are below this line in the long term, the Tareno Hawk-Eye certificate was able to position itself above the capital market line in the comparative universe analyzed. At the same time, the strategy achieved both the highest return and the highest Sharpe ratio within this universe.
Consistent risk management as a success factor
The combination of high returns, a strong Sharpe ratio and a position above the capital market line underlines the quality of the track record to date.
The development shows that long-term outperformance does not result from forecasts alone. Consistent risk management, disciplined implementation and the early identification of new market opportunities are crucial.
