Tareno Hawk-Eye Quarterly Update October 2026
Sector Rotation, Risk Management, and New Investment Opportunities
In the third quarter of 2026, individual stock sectors performed very differently. While the major stock indices continued to be dominated by a handful of stocks, the narrow market breadth and, at times, euphoric investor sentiment called for caution. At the same time, new investment opportunities emerged outside the particularly sought-after technology stocks.
In the webinar, Manuel Schmedler demonstrates how the Tareno Hawk-Eye Strategy responded to these developments. The quantitative models most recently led to a more defensive portfolio positioning with higher weightings in the healthcare sector, consumer staples, and utilities. The interplay of market sentiment, chart patterns, relative strength, and price reactions to corporate news is crucial to investment decisions.
Using specific examples, Manuel Schmedler explains how the strategy identifies opportunities and consistently limits risks. While Airbnb continued to show an interesting chart pattern, the exit from BMW illustrates why clearly defined exit rules are an important component of risk management. He also presents a new potential investment scenario involving Walt Disney.
