Water Invest­ments in the Current Market Environ­ment

The Tareno Global Water Solutions Fund rebounded signi­fi­cantly in the second quarter of 2026. Positive contri­bu­tions came from Europe and Japan, among other regions, as well as from the industrial, construc­tion, pumping, and residen­tial flow sectors.

One key focus was the importance of water in the context of data centers and artifi­cial intel­li­gence. The discus­sion centered not only on the direct water consump­tion of data centers, but above all on water treat­ment in power genera­tion and semicon­ductor produc­tion. It is precisely in these areas that the fund manage­ment team sees attrac­tive business models for compa­nies in the water sector.

Fund manager Stefan Schütz also mentioned regula­tion. New legis­la­tive initia­tives in the U.S. housing sector could boost demand for water techno­logy, piping, drainage systems, and renova­tions. At the same time, the struc­tural need for modern water infras­truc­ture remains high.

It was also explained that the Tareno Global Water Solutions Fund is not about investing in water as a commo­dity. Rather, the fund provides access to compa­nies that develop solutions to key challenges in water manage­ment. These include, in parti­cular, the moder­nization of outdated water infras­truc­ture and the more efficient reuse of water.
