Water treatment system Ihanda Tanzania

Das Bild zeigt Schüler an einer SoWaDis Trinkwasseranlage in Tansania. Die Anlage wurde aus Spenden der Impact Anteilsklasse finanziert.

This is the second SoWaDis (Solar Water Disinfection) system, which was financed by donations from our impact share class. The drinking water system is located at a school in Tanzania and is part of a larger project. The aim is to build a own water supply for the entire school. The first step, which has already been taken, is the SoWaDis system with a 1’000-liter tank. Three easily accessible and stable water taps near the classrooms are supplied with clean water from this tank.

The project was realized in collaboration with the waterkiosk foundation. The Swiss foundation has been installing water treatment systems at schools, hospitals and in village communities in Tanzania since 2011. It has already provided over 125’000 children and adults with access to clean drinking water.

More information about the project can be found here.
